Selling my 1956 Paillard ~ Bolex H16 (Leader) 16mm film Swiss made movie camera. Able to change film frame rate from 8 frames per second (fps) to 16, 24, 36, and 64fps while the camera is rolling film. No sound sync… camera’s motor is too noisy for audio anyway. “Pure Cinema”. Interchangeable lens C-mount on a 3 lens radial turret allows for changing lens selection while film is rolling…for cool transition shots. This posting is not of movie or footage taken with the Bolex; it is a video where the Bolex H16 is the subject ; made using Panasonic HDC-SD100 AVCHD camcorder. Edited using Sony Vegas 9.0. I bought several reels of original 16mm film from the 1940′s and one of them had this short clip of Humphrey Bogart and – very briefly – Lauren Bacall at some sort of event in Los Angeles. The original film is Kodachrome and looks a whole lot better than this video transfer.
