I bought several reels of original 16mm film from the 1940′s and one of them had this short clip of Humphrey Bogart and – very briefly – Lauren Bacall at some sort of event in Los Angeles. The original film is Kodachrome and looks a whole lot better than this video transfer.

Shot in Los Angeles around 1965, Tom Graeff (auteur behind Teenagers from Outer Space) practices his zoom and tilt on a 16mm camera. Does anyone have any idea where this store was? Ca-razy. This clip comes from reels of Tom’s home movies, which offer many beautiful and mundane moments. Uploaded with full permission of the print’s owner.
