hey guys, heres my shoulder becoming a whole lot richer carrying an Arri SR3, which is a Super 16mm film camera! rock on! on the camera is a –10-100mm 1.8 zeiss lens, yes… a 1.8 zoom! its incredibly fast to use! and it goes from 10mm cause it’s designed for 16mm not 35, similar to our crop sensors on dslr’s –magazine with 400 feet of exposed super 16 film, 1.85:1, equivalent to about 1600 lines, or 1.7K, my 550D does 1920 (2K) at best – before the 2000s this was the equivalent if u wanted to shoot ‘HD’ –24V battery, which does about 7 cans of film – 11mins each – which is apparently a fair chunk compared to power sucking digital! –grip for handheld use – its really nice to use but the camera is SO much heavier than dslr’s, similar to a red camera, or maybe 2 red bricks on your shoulder? also theres no nice moulded foam on the bottom, just a big flat steel base plate… –spring system in the viewfinder so when you’re not operating it blacks out, then you’ve got to press hard on it so your eye doesnt let any light in cause it seeps into the film! amazing! –huge box thing on the top to the right for monitor out (terrible quality – blown out highlights etc – only for the director to see composition), its a pretty old school device, these days it would be tiny and have 1080p out etc –ability to shoot at heaaaps of frame rates – 1fps, 6fps, 18, 24 of course, 25, 30, 48 etc, EVEN 75!! for full progressive no rolling shutter perfect 3x slow motion! also this was shot …

Making Of – Short Film “Heartless” – Part 1
“Making Of” Documentary of Short Film “Heartless”. “Heartless” is a black comedy story about a famous, retired cardiologist who at one day gets the sudden surprise of the Italian Mafia. They came specially from Calabria to London to persuade Doctor Hyman to perform a heart transplant on their boss Don Salvatore. “Heartless” is a 10 minutes graduation film which is made during the “Filmmaking Diploma Course” at the London Film Academy. It is shot on Super 16 mm during a period of 4 days: 28th Jan 2010 – 31st Jan 2010. “Heartless” is directed by Christiaan Neu and written by Michele Fiascaris.
